An end-of-life doula is a companion who helps a person transition to death, and/or their loved ones through the dying process. The goal is to help the transition to be as peaceful and as dignified as possible.
An end-of-life doula is a non-medical professional who:
increases awareness of end-of-life care options
increases the quality of life at the end of life
provides compassionate guidance and emotional or spiritual support during the end of life
facilitates meaningful conversations between you, your family, and your care team
educates families on the significance of advance care and end-of-life planning, so as to help achieve comfort and peace at the end of life.
I can be hired to work directly with the person with the terminal diagnosis, or with the family members or caregivers around the person.
I work with dying adults, as well as dying adolescents and children (specialising in Pediatric Death).
I also help people at any stage of their life prepare for their death.
